Tasks and Duties
Week 1 Task: Conduct a Risk Assessment:
For the first task, you will conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of a hypothetical manufacturing plant. The objective is to identify potential hazards, evaluate the risk associated with these hazards, and propose mitigation strategies. Start by describing the plant, including its size, number of employees, and the type of manufacturing processes involved. Then, identify potential hazards, categorize them according to severity, and evaluate the risk associated with each hazard. Finally, propose mitigation strategies for each identified risk. Your deliverable should be a DOC file which includes: 1) A detailed description of the hypothetical plant; 2) A categorized list of potential hazards; 3) A risk evaluation for each hazard; and 4) Proposed mitigation strategies. Evaluation will be based on the comprehensiveness of your risk assessment, the feasibility of your proposed mitigation strategies, and the overall quality of your written report.
Week 2 Task: Develop an EHS Training Program:
For this week, you will develop an EHS training program for the employees of a hypothetical manufacturing plant. The objective of this task is to ensure that all employees are aware of the various safety protocols and procedures in place. Start by identifying the key areas that require training, which should be based on the risk assessment you conducted in Week 1. Then, develop a training module for each key area. Finally, propose a schedule for the implementation of these training programs. Your deliverable should be a DOC file which includes: 1) The key areas identified for training; 2) A detailed description of each training module; and 3) A proposed schedule for the implementation of the training programs. Evaluation will be based on the relevance of your training modules to the identified key areas, the comprehensiveness of each training module, and the feasibility of your proposed schedule.
Week 3 Task: Prepare an Emergency Response Plan:
Your task this week is to prepare an emergency response plan for the hypothetical manufacturing plant. The objective of this task is to ensure that in the event of an emergency, employees are aware of the steps they need to take to ensure their safety and the safety of others. Start by identifying potential emergency situations based on the risk assessment conducted in Week 1. Then, for each emergency situation, outline the steps that employees should take. Finally, propose a plan for communicating this emergency response plan to all employees. Your deliverable should be a DOC file which includes: 1) A list of potential emergency situations; 2) An outline of the steps to be taken in each emergency situation; and 3) A proposed communication plan. Evaluation will be based on the comprehensiveness of your emergency response plan, the feasibility of the outlined steps, and the effectiveness of your proposed communication plan.
Week 4 Task: Develop an EHS Compliance Audit Plan:
The final task is to develop an EHS compliance audit plan for the hypothetical manufacturing plant. The objective of this task is to ensure that the plant is compliant with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations. Start by identifying the key areas that need to be audited, based on the risk assessment conducted in Week 1 and the training and emergency response plans developed in Weeks 2 and 3. Then, for each key area, propose a set of audit criteria. Finally, propose a schedule for the implementation of this audit plan. Your deliverable should be a DOC file which includes: 1) The key areas identified for auditing; 2) A detailed description of the audit criteria for each key area; and 3) A proposed schedule for the implementation of the audit plan. Evaluation will be based on the relevance of your audit criteria to the identified key areas, the comprehensiveness of your audit plan, and the feasibility of your proposed schedule.
