Week 1-2: Employee Handbook Review

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Study the structure and purpose of an employee handbook using public examples. Review sample workplace policies and identify important employee guidelines. Prepare a clear summary of the policies reviewed.

Objective

1)

Review the structure of an employee handbook using publicly available sample policies and HR resources.

2)

The objective is to understand how organizations communicate workplace expectations to employees.

3)

Select common policy areas such as attendance, leave, code of conduct, workplace communication, remote work, data protection, professional behavior, grievance handling, and workplace safety.

4)

Do not use confidential company documents.

5)

Prepare a policy review table containing the policy name, purpose, key employee responsibility, and your observations.

6)

Identify at least five policies that you believe are important for a new employee to understand.

7)

For each selected policy, explain why it is useful and what type of workplace issue it can help prevent.

8)

You may use government or reputable HR websites as research sources.

9)

Do not copy complete policies; summarize them in your own words.

10)

Prepare the final work using a document or spreadsheet and include the source names used for your research.

11)

Submit the policy review along with a short conclusion explaining how an employee handbook can improve communication between employees and an organization.

2

Week 3-4: Employee Engagement Program Planning

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Design a simple employee engagement activity for a remote team. Plan objectives, activities, communication, and participation methods. Create a practical engagement plan that can be implemented online.

Objective

1)

Design a one-week employee engagement program for a fictional organization where employees work remotely.

2)

The purpose of this task is to understand how HR teams can maintain employee participation and workplace connection without requiring employees to be physically present.

3)

Choose a theme such as wellness week, learning week, team appreciation, virtual games, knowledge sharing, or employee recognition.

4)

Prepare a complete plan containing the objective, target participants, daily activities, communication method, expected participation, required resources, and method of collecting feedback.

5)

The activities should be realistic and possible to conduct using online tools such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, forms, or internal communication platforms.

6)

Create a simple communication message announcing the program to employees.

7)

Also design a feedback form containing at least five questions.

8)

Finally, define two or three basic measures that HR can use to understand whether the program was successful.

9)

Use fictional company and employee information.

10)

Submit the engagement plan, announcement message, and feedback questions in a single document.

11)

Add a short conclusion explaining how employee engagement can contribute to communication and team participation.

3

Week 5-6: Workplace Conflict Resolution Case Study

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Analyze a fictional workplace conflict between two employees. Identify the possible causes, stakeholders, and appropriate HR response. Prepare a step-by-step conflict resolution recommendation.

Objective

1)

Analyze a fictional workplace conflict case involving two employees in a remote team.

2)

For example, the conflict may involve unclear responsibilities, communication gaps, missed deadlines, inappropriate communication, or disagreement over project ownership.

3)

Create a case study containing the background, people involved using fictional names, sequence of events, and the main issue.

4)

Analyze the possible root causes of the conflict and distinguish between facts and assumptions.

5)

Then prepare an HR response plan explaining how an HR professional or manager could handle the situation fairly.

6)

Your plan should include listening to both sides, documenting the issue, identifying possible solutions, communicating expectations, and following up after the discussion.

7)

Do not use real employee names or confidential incidents.

8)

You may research general conflict-management practices from reputable HR resources.

9)

The goal is not to decide who is right but to demonstrate a fair and structured approach to workplace conflict.

10)

Submit the case study and your recommended resolution in a PDF or document.

11)

Include a short section explaining how good communication can prevent similar conflicts in the future.

4

Week 7-8: Internal Communication Strategy

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Create a communication plan for a fictional remote organization. Prepare employee announcements for different workplace situations. Demonstrate how HR can communicate information clearly and consistently.

Objective

1)

Create an internal communication strategy for a fictional organization with employees working remotely from different locations.

2)

The objective is to understand how HR communicates important information to employees in a clear, timely, and professional manner.

3)

Select three situations such as a new HR policy announcement, employee engagement activity, office holiday notification, training program, or change in work process.

4)

For each situation, prepare a communication message suitable for email or an internal communication platform.

5)

Define the target audience, purpose, communication channel, timing, and expected employee action.

6)

Make sure the messages are concise but contain all important information.

7)

You should also prepare a simple communication calendar showing when each message should be shared and whether a reminder is required.

8)

Use only fictional company and employee information.

9)

Research basic communication practices from publicly available HR resources if required.

10)

Submit the strategy document containing the communication calendar and three sample announcements.

11)

Add a short explanation of how consistent internal communication can reduce confusion, improve employee awareness, and support better coordination within an organization.
