About this Internship

Understand basic HR compliance concepts through public research, policy review, documentation checks, and simulated compliance reporting.

Tasks and Duties
1

Week 1-2: HR Policy Audit

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Review a fictional set of HR policies against a predefined checklist. Identify missing, unclear, or outdated policy sections. Prepare a structured policy audit report with observations.

Objective

1)

Conduct a simulated HR policy audit for a fictional organization.

2)

Prepare or use a sample set of policies covering areas such as leave, attendance, workplace conduct, remote work, grievance handling, data protection, and employee communication.

3)

Create an audit checklist containing important review points for each policy.

4)

Review the sample policies against your checklist and classify each item as Complete, Needs Clarification, Missing, or Not Applicable.

5)

Do not claim that your review provides legal compliance certification.

6)

For legal or regulatory topics, use publicly available government or official sources only as research references.

7)

Document each observation clearly and explain why the policy area may need improvement.

8)

Create a summary table showing the number of items reviewed and the issues identified.

9)

Finally, prepare three practical recommendations for improving the fictional organization's HR documentation.

10)

Use fictional information throughout the task.

11)

Submit the policy samples, audit checklist, findings table, and recommendation report as a PDF or document.

12)

The purpose is to understand how HR teams systematically review documentation and identify areas requiring clarification or further professional/legal review.

2

Week 3-4: HR Compliance Research

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Research selected Indian workplace rules using reliable public sources. Summarize the purpose and basic HR relevance of each topic. Create a source-based compliance reference document.

Objective

1)

Research selected HR and employment-related compliance topics relevant to organizations operating in India.

2)

Use official government websites, government publications, or other authoritative public sources wherever possible.

3)

Select three to five topics such as wages, working conditions, employee records, workplace safety, leave, or workplace conduct.

4)

For each topic, identify the relevant official source, explain its general purpose in simple language, and describe why an HR team should be aware of it.

5)

Do not provide legal advice or assume that one rule applies identically to every organization or state.

6)

Clearly mention that the task is an educational research exercise and that organizations should consult qualified professionals for actual compliance decisions.

7)

Create a structured research table containing topic, source, key points, HR relevance, and research date.

8)

Include links or source names so the information can be verified.

9)

Submit the research report as a PDF or document.

10)

Add a final section describing how HR teams can maintain a compliance-reference checklist and periodically review official updates.

11)

The objective is to develop responsible research skills for HR compliance work.

3

Week 5-6: Employee Documentation Review

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Create a fictional employee-record checklist for HR documentation review. Check sample records for completeness and consistency. Prepare a report showing missing or inconsistent information.

Objective

1)

Perform a simulated employee documentation review using fictional employee records.

2)

Create at least ten sample employee profiles containing non-sensitive fields such as employee ID, department, job title, joining date, employment type, policy acknowledgement status, training status, and manager name.

3)

Intentionally include some missing or inconsistent values.

4)

Create a documentation checklist defining which fields should be available for each employee record.

5)

Review the sample records against the checklist and identify missing, inconsistent, or incorrectly formatted information.

6)

Prepare a tracking sheet showing employee ID, missing item, status, action required, and completion status.

7)

Do not use real employee data or sensitive identity documents.

8)

The objective is to understand how HR teams monitor the completeness of employee records and follow up on missing administrative information.

9)

After completing the review, prepare a short summary showing the most common documentation issues and three recommendations for improving record management.

10)

Submit the sample dataset, review checklist, issue tracker, and summary report as a PDF or spreadsheet.

11)

Clearly label all information as fictional and created for educational purposes.

4

Week 7-8: HR Compliance Recommendation Report

Mandatory Weightage: 100%

Summary

Combine findings from a fictional HR compliance review into one report. Prioritize issues based on importance and practical impact. Prepare clear recommendations and an action plan for management.

Objective

1)

Prepare a final HR compliance recommendation report using the findings from your previous policy, research, and documentation tasks.

2)

Assume you are supporting HR for a fictional organization that wants to improve its internal HR documentation and processes.

3)

Summarize the major issues identified and group them into categories such as policy documentation, employee records, workplace communication, training, and compliance awareness.

4)

Assign a simple priority level such as High, Medium, or Low based on the potential importance of addressing the issue.

5)

For each issue, provide a practical recommendation, responsible role, suggested timeline, and expected outcome.

6)

Do not claim that the recommendations establish legal compliance.

7)

Where a topic requires legal interpretation, clearly recommend professional review.

8)

Create an executive summary of the key findings followed by a detailed action plan.

9)

Include the public sources used during your research.

10)

The final report should be professional enough to demonstrate your ability to organize HR findings for management review.

11)

Submit the report as a PDF or document.

12)

The objective is to demonstrate how HR research and documentation reviews can be converted into practical improvement recommendations.
