About this Internship

This Global Payroll internship prepares you to manage payroll across multiple countries. You will learn the challenges of multi-country payroll: differing tax and social-security rules, currency and pay-date handling, expatriate and shadow payroll, data protection, and coordinating with in-country providers or global platforms. By the end you will understand how to standardise and control payroll for an international workforce.

Tasks and Duties
Learn what makes global payroll complex: varying statutory rules, currencies, pay cycles, languages, and compliance. Deliverable: a short comparison of payroll differences between two countries (e.g. UK vs India) covering taxes and social security.
Understand how compliance and data-protection rules (e.g. GDPR) affect payroll data across countries, and how to keep filings accurate per jurisdiction. Deliverable: a checklist an employer should follow before launching payroll in a new country.
Cover currency conversion, differing pay dates, and expatriate/shadow payroll for employees working abroad. Deliverable: explain how you would pay an employee relocated from India to the UK, listing the key payroll considerations.
Understand the role of global payroll providers/aggregators and how to consolidate multi-country data into unified management reporting. Deliverable: a sample consolidated payroll summary for three countries and a note on why standardised reporting matters.
